The Street Profits vs. Chris Starr and Riley Apex
The Street Profits kicked off this week’s show in tag team action against their smaller opponents Chris Starr and Riley Apex.
The bout was decisive as the popular tag team duo of Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford showcased an impressive display of dominance from the beginning to the end of the brawl.
After the match, the duo took to the stands and celebrated with the fans in attendance.
Shortly after, they called out other tag teams including The Undisputed Era and The Authors of Pain, suggesting they may be looking to move onto bigger feuds in the coming year.
The Street Profits defeated Riley Apex and Chris Starr.
EMBER MOON VS. SONYA DEVILLE (NXT Women’s Championship)
Ember Moon returned to action this Wednesday night to battle Sonya Deville for her NXT Women’s Championship.
Deville, who had earlier picked up a hard-fought victory over Ruby Riott weeks back sought to claim her first-ever WWE gold as both women battled in singles action.
Deville worked over the champ in the early going, beating and mauling Ember Moon with a series of devastating strikes.
No matter how Moon tried to regain composure, the former MMA star continued to cut short her chances at a return.
Later on, Moon was able to avoid a sliding knee and countered into a Springboard Dropkick that stunned Deville for the time being.
Moments later, the Champ regained the upper hand and unloaded on her opponent until she finally delivered her signature Eclipse for the victory.
As the celebration was on course, The Pirate Princess Kairi Sane arrived the scene and insinuated she will be next in line for a challenge at the NXT Women’s title.
To a stunning surprise, another former MMA Superstar Shayna Baszler emerged from behind and attacked the woman who stole her spotlight at The Mae Young Classic Tournament – Kairi Sane; chocking her out until the referees pulled her off.
The segment ended with a surprised Ember Moon, a battered Kairi Sane and a standing-tall Shayna Baszler.
Ember Moon defeated Sonya Deville.
JOHNNY GARGANO VS. LARS SULLIVAN VS. KILLIAN DAIN VS. ALEISTER BLACK (Fatal-4-Way No. 1 Contenders match)
The main event of the night featured the long-awaited Fatal-4-Way match involving four of NXT’s best – all battling for the spot of the No. 1 contender spot to the NXT Championship.
The bout itself was a showcase of strength and tenacity as all four Superstars unloaded on each other in the early going.
At a stage, Killian Dain was on top of his foes, later on, Aleister Black had the upper hand, then followed by Johnny Gargano, Lars Sullivan, and so on…
The bout continued to grow immense momentum even after The Undisputed Era attacked Aleister Black, causing him the match as a result of his victory over Adam Cole weeks ago.
Late in the match, Dain and Sullivan were disposed of at ringside, allowing Gargano to deliver a huge DDT to a battered Black and scored the shocking victory of the night.
In the end, Johnny Gargano emerged as the No. 1 Contender for Andrade “Cien” Almas’ NXT Championship at TakeOver: Philadelphia.
